Digital art encounters with Japan
都市の光、郷の灯
Explore the contrasting worlds of Japan’s urban future and rural traditions in WOW’s new digital art installation at Japan House London, WOW: City Lights and Woodland Shade.
From 21 November 2019 to 22 March 2020, Japan House London welcomes the mesmerising digital displays of multidisciplinary visual design studio, WOW. This is the first time these installations will have been shown in the UK, uniting Japanese innovation and tradition.
WOW is a multidisciplinary new media visual design studio from Tokyo and Sendai in Japan creating experiences through art, product design, branding and prototyping.
‘Tokyo Light Odyssey’ installation is a 360-degree immersive motion graphics exhibition that transports the visitor through the Tokyo night. ‘Poppo’ installation highlights WOW’s roots in Tōhoku, north-eastern Japan, using technology to explore new ways of making the handmade wooden crafts of the region.
This exhibition is organized by Japan House London in collaboration with WOW, with kind support from Japan House London Trust and Panasonic Business.
