KI NO BI Gin Tasting

KI NO BI Gin Tasting events at Japan House London

To mark London Craft Week 2021 (4–10 October), Japan House London hosts KI NO BI gin tasting events in The Shop on the Ground Floor. Join us to learn about the brand, their products and the ingredients that go into KI NO BI gin production. Guests have the opportunity to taste two types of gin:

  • KI NO BI Kyoto Dry Gin is created using high-quality rice spirit base, pure ground water sourced from the famous sake-brewing district of Fushimi and Japanese botanicals. The latter include yellow yuzu from the north of Kyoto Prefecture, hinoki (Japanese cypress) wood chips, bamboo, gyokuro tea (shade-grown Japanese green tea) and green sanshō (Japanese peppercorn) berries. The result is a dry gin flavour with a Japanese accent. Strength: 45.7% abv.
  • KI NO TEA Kyoto Dry Gin is distilled with the finest tencha (Japanese green tea leaves primarily used for matcha production) and gyokuro teas from renowned tea-grower and blender, Hori-Shichimeien (founded in 1879 CE). The premium teas are harvested in the famous tea-producing region of Uji, south of Kyoto, and blended using a secret botanical recipe, used only in KI NO TEA, to provide intense aromas, depth of flavour and a delicate sweetness. Strength: 45.1% abv.
About the Maker:

KI NO BI is a small-batch, artisanal gin created at The Kyoto Distillery, located in the south of Kyoto, one of the foremost sake-producing areas in Japan. Water is a key ingredient in gin production, which is why The Kyoto Distillery sources the natural water from a well in one of the region’s most famous saka gura (sake breweries). KI NO BI means ‘Beauty of the Seasons’, and true to the name, gin botanicals are sourced in season, when they are at their best.

The event is free to attend and is available for all visitors who drop into The Shop on the Ground Floor.
