Japan House London Celebrates Third Anniversary
On 22 June 2021 Japan House London celebrates its third anniversary as the cultural home of Japan in the UK.
To mark this special occasion, Japan House is offering birthday gifts worth £100 to the 3rd, 33rd and 333rd guest on 22 June, as well as complimentary mochi (sweet sticky rice cake) for the first 50 guests to enter the Ground Floor.
eNewsletter subscribers will also get 10% off all purchases in The Shop as well as remote purchases via the website (valid from 21 to 25 June, Ts&Cs apply*). Various other giveaways will run throughout the day.
At AKIRA restaurant, eNewsletter subscribers will receive a free beer when dining at the restaurant on 22 June (Ts&Cs apply**).
Guests to AKIRA will also receive 50% off bento boxes during lunch time (Sushi bento and Vegetarian bento, valid from 22 June for a month). In addition, AKIRA offers a 20% discount on the total bill for diners arriving between 18:00 - 18:30 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 22 June for a month. Three Years of Japan House London
Opened in 2018, Japan House has since welcomed almost one million visitors through its doors, hosting 10 exhibitions showcasing the works of Japan’s leading creative experts and running over 320 events.
The success of the Japan House exhibition programme – which has displayed the work of artists from a variety of fields including internationally-renowned manga artist, Urasawa Naoki, textile designer Sudō Reiko and celebrated architect Sou Fujimoto, has resulted in numerous cultural, educational and commercial partnerships. Attendees to the hundreds of events held have been able to listen to talks from leaders in fashion, architecture, textiles, art, travel and other disciplines.
On the occasion of Japan House London's third anniversary Director General Michael Houlihan said:
