As part of the current exhibition Anno’s Journey, continue to explore the remarkable world of illustrator Anno Mitsumasa in this short film featuring an exclusive interview with the artist himself.
Filmed in his hometown of Tsuwano in Shimane Prefecture, Anno discusses his creative processes, passion for fantasy and travel, and inspirations for his extraordinarily diverse body of work, from his humorous travel picture books and illustrated retellings of the works of Shakespeare, to historical artworks exploring epic tales from Japanese and Chinese history.
Guests to the Library can also enjoy using mirrors to interact with works from ‘Anno’s Magical ABC’.
