Translating Murakami:
Visually interpreting the work of Murakami Haruki

Murakami Library display

Coinciding with the UK publication of Murakami Haruki's hotly anticipated new novel ‘Killing Commendatore’, Japan House is collaborating with VINTAGE books to present a pop-up display of the popular Japanese author’s UK cover art.

Curator: Suzanne DEAN, Creative Director, VINTAGE Books

The display is accompanied by ‘Translating Murakami’ a talk by Murakami translator Ted Goossen on Thursday 11 October, and ‘Designing Murakami’ a workshop during which participants can make their own Murakami cover art on Friday 12 October.

About Suzanne Dean:
Suzanne Dean studied Graphic Design at Kingston University. She worked for a short time in general design before moving into publishing, working first for Penguin Books and then for Picador. Five years later she joined Random House as Creative Director for Vintage, whose imprints include Jonathan Cape, Chatto & Windus and Harvill Secker.
