Floral artist Azuma Makoto has run a florist since 2002. He is currently the owner of the haute couture florist JARDINS des FLEURS in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo. Azuma has undertaken a number of creative projects as a flower artist, both at home and abroad in the U.S.A., France, Germany and Brazil. In 2009, he established an experimental flower laboratory, Azuma Makoto Botanical Laboratory that explores the potential of flowers and plants using artistic innovation. Azuma’s diverse creative endeavors consistently seek to discover the mysterious forms that only flowers and plants offer, in turn shaping them into something expressive and enhancing their existential value.
