Washi
Washi – literally ‘Japanese paper’ – is a type of durable, soft paper made from three different plants: kōzo (mulberry), mitsumata and ganpi. Washi has been used for a variety of purposes throughout Japan's history - from its first bank notes and origami, through to contemporary items such as bags and lampshades.
