Kintsugi
Kintsugi refers to the technique of using urushi (lacquer) and powdered gold to fix broken pieces of ceramics back together. The gold lines along each crack are a way of celebrating the restoration of the piece, which is allowed to retain its usefulness and history thanks to this practice.
