Artist and illustrator Suga Mica on her inspiration and techniques

Inspired by 20th century surrealist artists such as Giorgio de Chirico and Salvador Dalí, Suga Mica creates collages, prints and canvas paintings which range from the cute to the unsettling.

Suga reflects on how a ‘sense of asymmetry or discord’ has come across in her artwork in this video interview.

Pretend Play by Suga Mica is featured in the exhibition WAVE: Currents in Japanese Graphic Arts.
